Details A class that uses a technique of pandiculation to reprogram muscles to their optimal length in a resting position. Instead of only stretching muscles, this class utilises progressive intelligent movement-based practices based on the work of Thomas Hanna, Dr Stephen Porges (Polyvagal Theory), and Martha Peterson. Somatic movement classes will help unwind stiffness, pain and postural imbalances, calm the nervous system and increase flexibility through brain-to-muscle re-education. When the body, brain and nervous system are working together in harmony there will be a rediscovery of what it means to live and move with freedom and ease. Instructions Live classes run on Zoom. Here's how to join: 1) Book your place as normal on the booking system & report any health info when prompted 2) Download Zoom to your mobile, tablet or computer (https://us04web.zoom.us/ or visit App stores) 3) Find a space to practice in - it doesn't need to be perfect! If you don't have a mat, maybe grab a towel or just use the floor! 4) Check your emails - a class link will be sent to you 15 minutes before we start or checking your My Bookings tab on the website or app. Click, join the room and mute your microphone but keep your camera on so I can see you. 5) Enjoy! This is probably new to most of us (it is to me!) so if you have glitches feel free to feedback. I will endeavour to make classes available for viewing later where possible.
